Love or Hate. It is a choice we all must make.
I cannot comprehend how anyone can hate someone because they are a different race. When I read God’s word, Jesus, who by the way was Jewish, teaches us to love and commands us to love our neighbor as we love our self.
I do not understand how anyone can hate someone because they have different ideas than we do. God is the ultimate judge and while we do not have to agree with other viewpoints, we are commanded to love. Based on what God’s word says other ideas and viewpoints may be totally wrong and against God’s commands or His will. This is up to them and God. God will be the ultimate authority, not us. It is simply up to us to love.
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39
“I Was Raised This Way”
“My parents were racists so that means I should be. It was how I was raised.” This one gets me every time… Still a choice needs to be made. And that choice, no matter how we are raised, is in OUR hands. At some point we must decide for ourselves how we wish to live.
The Greatest Love
Jesus was the one who showed us how to love when he paid the ultimate sacrifice for us all. Why? Because of love. He did not choose for whom he would die. He died for us all.
We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19
I cannot understand how someone can say they love Jesus but have hate for others in their heart. It makes no sense to me. We all bleed the same red blood. We make look different on the outside, but on the inside, we are all the same. Heaven will not be divided by race. In heaven, we will all be as one.
"If anyone says, 'I love God,' and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen." - 1 John 4:20
The choice between love or hate is a simple choice. There is no other choice to make than to love. Hate is such a heavy burden to bear. It is a poison that settles deep within the utmost parts of our heart, soul, and mind destroying all it encounters. I certainly do not want that in my heart on my shoulders. Do you?
"With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." - Ephesians 4:23
"Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses." - Proverbs 10:1
“Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness.” 1 John 2:9
